101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)

Note: The 101st is not a DoD-designated Special Operations unit.  The unit is included here for its specialized air assault mission and rapid deployment capability, as well as its history as an elite airborne unit.

 
Overview: The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) is formed of three brigades plus Division Artillery, Division Support Command, the 101st Aviation Brigade, 159th Aviation Brigade, 101st Corps Support Group and several separate commands.
