Psychological Operations (PSYOP)

This leaflet was dropped from Coalition PSYOP aircraft during Desert Storm. It looks exactly like Iraqi money on one side and was printed with detailed instructions regarding surrender procedures on the other. The leaflets were printed this way for (at least) two related reasons: One, they would be easily mistaken for real money, providing incentive for the Iraqi soldier to grab it; Two, if picked up, the soldier could easily hide it amongst his own money. There was good reason for this safety measure, as Iraqi military policy was to execute anyone in possession of such "Safe Passage" tickets.
