A special message to all SF HALO personnel from an E-5 rigger who shall remain anonymous:
I was wondering if you could do all the SpecOp Riggers a favor. Please post a reminder to all HALO personnel to switch off all AR2s after their jump. The problem is that the system can't tell air speed from ground speed (I.E. being transported after the jump) I'm sure that most HALO teams will learn this when they go on a train-up, and have to do their own repacks. Catching a spring loaded pilot chute in the face is a good reminder. I would rather like to let them learn from my bad luck.
Also, ask the HALO jumpers not to rigger roll the MC-4 if it has a AR2. The old way of rigger rolling the chute bends the AR2 power housing cable, causing us to replace it on repack. Nobody likes to have chutes out for repairs. If the rig is deployed with a team that has a bent power housing cable have your riggers check them before you jump. New gear always has its growing pains.
Thank you, The Management
