SWATTransportation...the Van
Entry tools carried in the SWAT Van.
SWAT uses specialized vehicles in their operations. Chief among these is the
"SWAT Van". The SWAT Van may take the form of a custom-built modular truck,
a standard modified panel truck, or even a large SUV such as a Suburban.
The SWAT Van is equipped to carry both the operators, their main equipment, and
any other equipment they may need on a callout. Some of this equipment may
include:
- Communications gear
- Entry tools - rams, bolt cutters, torch, etc.
- Extra weapons and ammunition
- Less than lethal equipment
- CS and OC gas/spray
- Medical equipment
- Electronic surveillance equipment
