1 Commando Regiment

 

Capabilities  

Amphibious Operations.    Commandos are equipped with Zodiac inflatable craft capable of carrying up to 10 men.   It can be deployed shore to shore, ship to shore or by C-130.   Commandos also conduct training with a variety of Naval ships which may be used for an alternative method of lodgement.       

Airborne Operations.  

All soldiers are qualified as basic parachutists.   They are capable of parachuting by day and night onto both land and sea drop zones.                            

 

Airmobile Operations.    
 The Regiment conducts training with C-130, Caribou, Blackhawk, Iroquios, Chinook and Sea King platforms.   Techniques include rappelling, fastroping, helocasting, the marking of Advanced Landing Grounds and the reception of aircraft.
     

Cliff Assault.    

Commandos are capable of cliff negotiation which can be combined with other insertion and extraction techniques.
