- Missions
-
The
main mission for the 210th Para-Commando Logistic
Company is to:
- provide logistic support
for the units belonging to the Para-Commando Brigade
- keep all the vehicles
of the Para-Commando Brigade in running order
- be able to support
a Para-Commando detachment engaged in an evacuation
mission in Africa, and at the same time support
a Para-Commando Battalion carrying out a mission
as part of the Allied Command Europe Mobile Force's
immediate reaction force
In short, the mission
assigned to the Company consists of providing direct
logistic support to the units belonging to the Para-Commando
Brigade, in peacetime, as well as in wartime.
History
As part of the general
restructuring of logistic units, the 210th Logistic
Company is created on 1 July 1983 at Arolsen. The
210th Logistic Company is formed by fusing two existing
units, the
202th
Material Company and the 107th Supply&Maintenance
Platoon both stationed at Arolsen, with the 210th
Maintenance Company stationed at Aachen. The newly
created 210th Logistic Company is part of the 18th
Logistic Battalion , the staff of which is stationed
at Lüdenscheid. In a wartime scenario, the 210th Logistic
Company is to provide logistical support to the units
of the Reconnaissance Group.
After the disappearance of the iron curtain, and following
the reorganisation of the Armed Forces, it is decided
in November1991 to transform the Para-Commando Regiment
into a full- fledged brigade. Furthermore the Reconnaissance
Group is disbanded. To be able to provide logistic
support for the Para-Commando units, the brigade as
an autonomous formation, needs a logistical
unit. In view of the wide experience gained by 210th
Logistic Company, it is appointed the logistical unit
of the Para-Commando Brigade.
