2th Reconnaissance Battalion

Profile		Since the fifties, the Battalion has been reorganised several times; it was changed to a Company and back to Battalion. In 1994 it achieved the present size. The Recon Battalion is assigned to collect the information about the enemy and terrain, to estimate the situation and to locate the targets in the area of combat activity of the Brigade. The has corresponding number of bodies that are able to do reconnaissance day and night. Main mission of the Recon Battalion is to collect enough information about enemy, terrain, weather and other facts necessary for taking decision by commander and for waging the combat activities. Members of the Battalion have to prove their excellent health condition, psychical resistance and psychical fitness, in the area of training, the emphasis is laid on mastering the fight at close quarters and survival under unfavourable conditions in an unknown terrain. Since 1995, after the conclusion of partnership with the 8th Reconnaissance Battalion of Bundeswehr.
