INTELLIGENCE


It constitutes all the organized effort to reunite information about the enemy, land and meteorological conditions. It is the weapon of " silence " that operates before, during and after any military action, allowing the commander to take appropriate advisable decisions.

HISTORY OF THE INTELLIGENCE WEAPON

From the dawn of the humanity, the intelligence has been one of the main skills of the intellect, from the appearance of the man on the Earth, because to obtain its survival, he developed many rudimentary mechanisms of observation, monitoring and attitudes of its enemies, which allowed him to increase the sense of intelligence for their own benefit or of the human group to which he belongs.
In 1904, it is dictated the Military Organic Law, project that had been proposed by the Congress and the the Ministry of war, General Flavio Alfaro, in whose body the beginning of the Intelligence Weapon is contemplated, because the " technical services " are born that included the areas of Geodesy, Architecture, Information, Recognition, Library, Photography and the Press.
When the General Staff of the Army is restructurated, after the arrival of the Italian military mission contracted by President Jose Luis Tamayo, it settles down definitively the Information Department of the Army.

In 1.978, after overcoming many difficulties and lacks of understanding it is organized the Battalion of Military Intelligence and the School of Intelligence of the Army, later on May 18, 1983 is satisfied the group of Military Intelligence, that remains until today like the greater unit of the Intelligence Weapon of the Terrestrial Force.
