Other German Special Mission Units
There are two other counterterrorist
groups. The SEK (Spezialeinsatzkommando) and the MEK
(Mobiles Einsatzkommando). These organizations are
parts of the several county police. The SEK is a part
of the several Security-Police and the MEK is a part
of the several civil police.
There's a third group (not wholly a counterterrorist
unit). This is the "BKA Zielfahndung / TE Group".
This is a special-police like the FBI. In the years
of RAF (Red Army Faction) they were very good in catching
terrorists by using "undercover" tactics.
They are a top secret unit and not widely known by
the general public.
There are some other small special-police groups.
Feldjaeger-Spezialkommando
of the MP of the Federal Army (Bundeswehr), the "Verwendungsgruppe
34/Kampfschwimmer" of the Naval Forces (Marine) like
the U.S. Navy SEALs and some other small groups.

investigation the ZUZ was to be called. Finally the
new unit was built up in 1997 and resembled the German
MEK (Mobile Einsatzkräfte, mobile deployment forces
of the German federal police, they are mainly in charge
to maintain security of public events, demonstrations,
politicians etc.). Equipped with the best high-tech
available, some sponsored by the UCLAF (Betrugsbekämpfungseinheit
der Europäischen Union, European Counter Fraud Unit),
it is able to track every targeted movement around
the world, especially freight containers on ships
etc.. The unit regularly conducts weapons training
with the GSG9, MEK and SEK (Sondereinsatzkommando,
German SWAT) on the HK MP 5 (SD), HK P8, HK G3 sniper,
