Delfin (Dolphin)

In 1957 the minister of a defense G. K. Zhukov were signed by the order on organization special forces of navy. Soon he has left from a post of the minister of a defense and all works on organization specforces were stopped. In 1967 under the order of the commander -in-chief of navy the auxiliary division - scholastic - burn-in group of the easy divers of the Black Sea fleet with tasks was created: the tests of various models of diving equipment, educational immersings, underwater works, study of a relief of bottom, currents etc. But in this group have appeared the people - enthusiasts special operations and they under the itself initiative, not notifying a management, trained under the itself program - recon, sabotages, struggle with underwater sabotagers of the opponent, capture of coastal objects etc. Soon after creation of this group the training of naval infantry were carried out, in which, on a plan of commanders of training, the group should only study underwater conditions for landing of naval infantry. Naval infantry should by assault grasp some important objects. But the employees of group not only have studied underwater conditions, but also have carried out recon of a coast, silently "have grasped" coastal staging area, leaving from water there, where for them did not wait, have carried out recon of objects, "have put out of action" the communications of the opponent, "have destroyed" command item of the opponent, have undermined some objects in a defense of the opponent and almost without noise "have grasped" the important objects. When the divisions of naval infantry have landed, all tasks of the training have appeared already are executed. It has made on commanders the large impression and the decision on transformation of group to Group on struggle with underwater sabotage forces and means (group PDSS - "protivodiversionniye sili i sredstva") was accepted.
In 1969 the groups PDSS were created in structure of other three fleet: Baltic, Northern, Pacific. Also groups PDSS were available in large war - sea bases.
In 1970 the Main intelligence service of a General staff (GRU) has created reconnaissance - sabotage group "Delfin" (Dolphin) with tasks: operations against war - sea bases of the foreign states. 
Recruits in groups PDSS are collected basically of marines on a voluntary basis under the recommendations of the commanders. Recruit should be emotionally counterbalanced, not be afraid of darkness, loneliness, closed space, should well transfer physical loadings, immersing on the large depths and differences of pressure. If recruit passes the psychological tests and medical commission, he becomes the cadet. Base preparation (26 weeks) begins further which consists of 3 stages: 1 stage - (7 weeks) Educational day - 15 hours. The cadets run on the large distances, float, are occupied with rowing, run on an obstacle course. With each day of the requirement are increased, the requirements become is more rigid. The instructors complicate problems: on water spill and set fire to petroleum, blow up charges near to the cadets. Last week the cadets are exposed to limiting physical and mental loadings. On dream is allocated no more than 3-4 hours per day. The cadets run on 100 kilometers with a complete battle complete set, float on 10 miles with towage of a cargo up to 40 kgs. This stage passes on the average 1 of 15-20 cadets. 2 stages - (11 weeks) the Cadets study underwater equipment, mine - explosive business, tactics of small groups in water and on ground, recon, radio communication, cold (knife etc.) and fire-arms (including underwater), parachute preparation, mountain climbing, drive of vehicles (ground, water, underwater), hand-to-hand battle on ground and in water (ways fatal, traumatic, shock influence). During this preparation occurs formation of small groups (till 2,3,4 men). The members of these groups study to understand each other from a half-word, half-look. After that stage the cadets pass examination on guards and defense of coastal objects and ships from the saboteurs of the opponent - the trainings will be carried out, in which the battle operation is simulated. The cadets, which have passed examination, are directed to a separate brigades of marines. 3 stages (8 weeks) the Cadets improve the skills. Constantly observe of the cadets the instructors. Under the recommendations of the instructors of one battle group of the cadets remain in a brigades of marines, other groups come back in groups PDSS, where they were trained, the most capable cadets offer biennial training in special recon - sabotage centre. This centre prepares the employees of group "Delfin".
Here cadets jump with a parachute from any heights, at any time of day or night, in any weather, on any district, land on ropes from helicopters, jump from the helicopter in water from height of 5 meters. Study to leave a submarine, to destroy the ships, sluices, dams, bridges, Anti-submarine system at oceans, to grasp air stations, command items, centres of communication, to survive in any climatic zones, in any weather, to make escape from captivities, to use poisons, to use all kinds of the domestic and foreign weapon, the receptions of hand-to-hand battle are developed individually, for each employee - receptions (depending on a constitution, features of mentality, morals. In group "Delfin" the employees specialize on regions of the world: latin America, Northern America, Western Europe, South - East Asia, Southern and South - Western Africa, Near East, Mediterranean sea etc. After passage of preparation at the centre, the cadets are sent in Sevastopol (Black sea). There they study methods of struggle with sea animals, which performing for struggle with the underwater saboteurs. For example, dolphins trained for an attack on dummies. On mug of dolphin attached the metal probe, with which he pierced a dummy, also dolphin the dummy for flippers or leg sufficed and dragged him downwards. Naturally, at work with the employees of group the dolphins had no the probe, and simply struck the employees mug. Time per one year the employees of "Delfin" pass retraining - study new equipment, arms, experience of the domestic and foreign battle swimmers. Once per one month the employees hand over the specifications (examination) in all disciplines. 
On arms of group "Delfin" is present all the weapon, which is required for fulfilment of their orders. Except for standard arms of army there is a underwater weapon - automatic device APS - 55, pistol SPP - 1í, which can be used and on land. There are explosive devices of volumetric explosion, vacuum ammunition, towed nuclear charges small (weight 27 kg.) and large (weight 70 kg.) capacity, means of neutralization water-accustic and electronic devices, respiratory devices with the closed cycle "Ida", devices of underwater orientation, supersmall submarines "Piranha" (6 saboteurs and various equipment), torpedo "Siren" (2 saboteurs and equipment, torpedo released from a torpedo tube of a submarine), electrical toweders "Triton" and "Akula" (Shark) and there is a lot of other equipment and equipment.
Instructors of group "Delfin" prepared the battle swimmers for groups "Alfa" and "Vympel". In 1970 - 80 underwater saboteurs worked in battle operations in many countries of the world: Angola, Vietnam, Egypt, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Ethiopia etc. The Responsibility for many operations was undertaken by armies or special service of these states. It is known, that two underwater saboteurs were lost at mining cargo ship of USA in a bay Kamran (Vietnam). They were killed performing dolphins, which protected a bay. After that the employees of group "Delfin" began to train in struggle against dolphins and at coast of Nicaragua at realization of battle operation the employees of group have destroyed performing dolphins. At coast of Africa the employees "Delfin" protected of the Soviet trade court. Once team of "Delfin" has noticed 6 employees of the underwater saboteurs - 8 men. The commander of team from group "Delfin" has taken out the knife and has removed him from itself, that is: " Beat without the weapon ". The opponents have accepted a call. The fight was severe, and in some minutes the opponents have return and receded. At both parties of losses was not. In one week it became known, that the opponents were the underwater saboteurs from South-Africa Republic. In 1989 steam-ship "Maksim Gorkiy", on which near coast of Malta met Mihail Gorbachyov and Jordj Bush, of three day protected 16 battle swimmers from "Delfin".
