| Watermanship
There are 2 types of watermanship training,
mainly Coastal Hooks and River Crossing.
 A
coastal hook is an offensive manoeuvre
initiated by army forces and executed
by forces embarked in surface water
craft using the coastal sea or river
as an axis of movement, to outflank
the enemy in order to accomplish
the assigned tactical mission.
|
River
crossing training forms an integral
and unavoidable part of land operations.
The objective of the training is
to project combat power across a
water
obstacle quickly while ensuring
the integrity of the crossing force
and maintaining the momentum of
crossing. The crossing training
is therefore not viewed as an operation
in itself but as part of the overall
land offensive. |
