THE OPERATOR'S BADGE

The silver operator's badge is awarded on completion of the Special Forces training cycle and worn on the right chest. The dagger typifies Special Forces the world over, and the laurels symbolise the bond with other comrades of this elite order

THE COMPASS ROSE

The compass rose, with its maroon background, is the identification mark of the South African Special Forces Brigade.

The compass depicts the ability of the regiments to operate in any direction, wherever they are needed, while the black and gold symbolise night and day, and the maroon refers to the ever dominant airborne capability.

BERET BADGE

The Special Forces beret badge is worn exclusively on the maroon beret by all members of the Brigade
