Initially, these 3 projects were originated
by 5th Special Forces Group with the intent of expanding
Special Forces jurisdictions into Laos and Cambodia
and removing Laos and Cambodia out of SOG area of
operations. However, it wound up that SOG absorbed
the men of Project Omega and Sigma into the C&C
detachments, leaving Project Delta with the 5th Group
and ultimately, it was disbanded. Project Delta was
an incountry (Vietnam) operation.
