Naval Amphibious Base
Coronado in San Diego, CA, is the home of the Navy's
official parachute demonstration team, the Leap Frogs.
All members of the Leap Frogs are selected from U.S.
Navy SEAL Teams.
The Leap Frogs perform
precision freefall and parachute jumps in support
of Navy-wide retention, recruiting and community relations
programs. These public performances afford the
community an opportunity to view the high level of
skills, dedication and professionalism required by
today's Navy. The team also serves to inspire
other navy personnel to perfect their own skills in
their particular occupational field.
The U.S. Navy parachute
team has translated a highly sophisticated form of
airborne infiltration of enemy defenses into a graphic
skyborne display of skydiving and parachuting.
Several team members have nearly one thousand freefall
jumps and no member has less than 200. In a
rigorous and demanding training program, each man
has polished a standard method of operation into the
excellence of a top professional performance.
It is this performance of the nationally famous Leap
Frogs that continues to thrill millions of spectators
each year.
Exhibiting traditional
naval courtesies, these modern men have constructed
a solid reputation as aerial showmen and traveling
ambassadors. On hand after touching down, the
members of the parachute team are available for a
first-hand description of parachuting, to answer questions
about their Navy profession and sign autographs.
The Leap Frogs' exhibition
season runs from March through November during which
the team performs for than 60 aerial acrobatics and
precision freefall demonstrations throughout the United
States before an average annual audience of 4,000,000
spectators. In addition to regularly scheduled
performances, the Leap Frogs perform many special
individual shows on behalf of the U.S. Navy Recruiting
Command.
Requests for demonstrations
by the Navy Parachute Team should be made at least
60 days in advance of the proposed event and forwarded
