Mobile Medic Mentoring Vehicle
(M3V)
Program Notes and Upgrade
On 25 February 97, the Mobile Medic Mentoring Vehicle
(M3V) was returned to Army Research Laboratory (ARL)
for upgrade and maintenance; the vehicle substained
some damage from use by the U.S. Marine Corps', Chemical
Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF). The M3V
Was used to support the CBIRF in Atlanta GA. for the
Olympic Games, the Presidential Inauguration in Washington
DC. and field training at Camp Lejune, NC. Quantico
VA and Norfolk Naval Base,VA. Maintenance will take
approximately one (1) month and will be followed by
another month for upgrades.
The vehicle is scheduled for refitting and upgrading
of it's video monitoring and communications (software
systems). This will give the M3V the capability to
monitor four (4) MEDICAMs simultaneously and will
be equipped with VCR's for video taping images, new
and improved satellite and fiber-optic communications
gear. This will give the user a fully integrated video
teleconferencing capability. This upgrade will also
make the M3V simpler and easier to use. The system
will be ready for an evaluation by AMEDD Combat Development
in late MAY 1997.
