Welcome to 3d FORECON CO/4TH SCAMP's home page. This
section will provide a quick overview of the activities
of Reserve Marines in the Mobile Area. They continuously
need good MOS 0321/8654 Reconnaissance Marines and/or
prior service Active Duty or SMCR ground MOS Marines
that want to become 0321 for the Force Recon Company
and 03xx/8621 Sensor operators for SCAMP. They also
recruit Prior Service non 03xx's for both commands.
The FORECON CO applicant will need to pass a 1st class
PFT, and a 1st class swim qualification in order to
become a 0321 Recon Marine. The SCAMP Unit will require
their Marines to attend the Remote Sensor Course (4
weeks in Dam Neck, Va) to gain the 8621 MOS
Both commands are Operationally committed to COMMARFORLANT/
II MEF for Direct Support of Operations/Personnel Tempo

Unit Mission
3rd Force Reconnaissance Company:
To conduct pre-assault and distant post-assault reconnaissance
in support of a landing force. In addition, the company
possesses the capability to perform the following tasks:
Engage the enemy by supporting arms, Implant sensors,
Capture selected prisoners, Conduct initial terminal
guidance operations, Conduct specialized terrain reconnaissance,
Conduct special missions requiring the use of entry
capabilities.
4th SCAMP: Plan,
control, and manage the employment of unattended ground
sensor equipment in support of a MAGTF or other commands
as directed.
