Mission of Marine Security Guard
School
The mission of Marine Security Guard School is to
screen, train, process, and evaluate Marines into
the MSG program. The school will also provide
training support to Detachments (on an as required
basis) , Department of State Regional Security Officer
Training Course, the new officer indoctrination program,
and critical counterintelligence threat post training.
Marine Security Guard School Philosophy
Because of the national sensitivity of this program,
the priority of the school is to ensure that only
Marines that are qualified for this unique duty are
allowed to become MSGs. There is no quota system.
The purpose of the school staff is to insure maximum
training value while providing the most fair and effective
evaluating environment as possible. All Marines
entering the school will be treated commensurate with
their rank. The evaluation of a Marine will
be based on dedication to training, and response to
counseling. The maturity, initiative, motivation,
and self discipline of each Marine must be fostered.
Everything the Marine does should be aimed at furthering
the learning and evaluating process.
Marine Security Guard School Staff
The Instructor/Advisors at the Marine Security Guard
School are hand selected from among the best of the
successful detachment commanders at post. They
bring with them a wealth of knowledge and the most
current experience from overseas.
