Here
is a photo of the new M82A2 Barrett gun. Its improvements
include a curved plastic thermo-molded magazine, aluminum
reciever components reducing weight to 26 lbs. unloaded,
and a full length Picatinny rail that has an optional
power strip in it's base. Barrel fluting is improved
also.

Here
is a photo of the new Barrett M99. This is considered
by some the best Barrett gun out there. The bolt locking
lugs are along the concept of interupted threads,
instead of the traditional two or three locking lugs.
It is a single shot feed only, with a 33 inch barrel
length.

This
is a tech breakdown of the earlier model RAI M500
a.k.a. the Haskins rifle.

Certain
elements within US Army Special Forces continually
tried to get full suppressors for the .50 caliber
guns. The biggest reason was for site signature suppression.
The noise wasn't bad, but the muzzle blast was outrageous.
In addition, it created a huge problem for the observers
trying to find bullet trace to give corrections to
the guns.
