M60 E3
The M60 E3 is a modified version of
the standard, crew-served M60 machine gun in use by
forces throughout the Department of Defense.
Today the E3 is used exclusively by US Navy Special
Warfare forces, primarily by the Navy SEALs (though
the Special Boat Units armorers are also proficient
in this weapon). This weapon will soon be phased
out in favor of the SAW. This weapon, however,
will not disappear from the world of low intensity
conflict, as nearly 1,000 E3's were transferred to
Colombia during the 1990's.
