for a son, daughter, or buddy - active duty, reserves,
or retired? In response to dozens of requests,
I have gathered these resources on one page to
aid your search.
There isn't much else we can do to help you with your search as these are the
same resources we would use, but for other suggestions or additions (we will
add your non-commercial guestbook, locator, or search engine for free), you
can send email via our contact link.:
If
(and
only if)
your search for an active duty serviceperson is
an emergency, try the American Red Cross first.

U.S.
Navy General
The Navy World-Wide locator will forward letters to
retired members of the Navy. For this assistance, send
a letter in a stamped envelope with the name
of the retired serviceman on the
front and no return address to:

Marine Corps Official
If
you are Active Duty, Veteran, or a Family Member
you may call the Marine Locator Service at (703)
784-3942 /43/44/45. You should have an SSN, Date
of Birth, and an MOS if possible. Non-veterans
or non-family members can send written request
to
the address below with a payment of $3.50 made payable to the U.S. Treasury.
This
service is for locating Active Duty Personnel ONLY. If your trying to locate
a retired
or discharged Marine they will only be able to give you a discharge date.

Military - General
The
Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) offers a vet/retired
locator service. For a small fee they will send
a list of matching names and supply all known facts
about a person's military history. If the service
is unable to find a matching name, you will get
your money back. You can write for information at:
